Another "what's on top of this car??" ......
This chap was going pretty fast driving through the country lanes, defiantly faster than most drivers but I quickly managed to get a few snaps as I pulled out.
It looked to me like it had 6 of these black camera things(?)... never seen anything like it before.

Yeah the camera cars for Streetview do look similar, but not exactly like that (I was photographed by one a few years ago)

not a automated car test car is it so thats the camera box? looks like rear and side facing camera's, guessing some on the front as well.

This is the countryside! There's not even white road markings for miles, let alone double yellows

That would be my guess. A council near us uses something similar although the car is marked up:
