NHS report - our politicians really are despicable!
I listened live to health secretary Jeremy Hunt's statement in the commons on the eleven NHS trusts that have been found to have major failings leading to the unnecessary deaths of many people.
This was a statement made on the back of a report done by NHS England's Prof Sir Bruce Keogh in which he stated categorically that no attempt should be made to quantify the number of patients who have died and no party political stance should be taken as the situation is too serious for that.
So as I listen Hunt spends the first 2 minutes of his speech blaming it all on Labour while his party refer to 13,000 deaths!!!
The shadow health secretary then spends a few minutes of his reply blaming it on the Coalition government!!!
The speaker had to intervene several times as the Commons decended into an unruly state similar to the disgraceful behaviour at last week's PMQ..... noise levels and behaviour more befitting the chimpanzee breeding zone at Chester Zoo rather than our elected representatives!!
These people never miss a chance to play political football with anything and of course we all know none of them have the slightest intention of really doing something about it!
They are beneath contempt, the lot of them!

The private sector wouldn't take on most of the NHS, certainly the private sector wouldn't take on my service as they wouldn't make any money......
The Private sector would like to cream off some of the best bits though....

IMO the best thing the NHS could do would be to shrink to about 25 to 50% of it's current size, with people being encouraged to take care of their own needs via the private sector. Maybe tax breaks and so on (yeah I know - ludicrous idea).
I know this could mean that people might be given choice. Maybe even take such matters as healthy seriously instead of leaving it up to the government (whoever the f*ck that is?). They may eventually get the hang of it. Might even get to like it.
Won't happen though - NHS is a major pillar of the Modern Britain creation myth - plenty of vested interest too. So that = dogma + money.
Nah - we are stuck with it.

My sister works in the NHS as some medical scientist, and its absolute rock bottom at the moment.
They appear to be closing departments down in certain hospitals, and merging with another hospital. She as already had to re locate to another hospital, because they closed down the research/scientist dept in the hospital she was working in..

The word "politician" is a euphemism and they seem to successfully prove that comment most days.
It seems to be of vital importance to avoid telling the rest of us what is really going on probably in an effort to avoid any kind of blame for their self seeking and useless actions.
