Default BBQ Recipes

All this talk of BBQ's has me thinking. I always cook the same old stuff - you know, wings, burgers etc etc.

Anyone got any tasty alternatives that are proven? Should be able to get the coals out this week at some point, and really would like to do something a bit different.

Mushrooms wrapped in bacon always go down well at our BBQs...use a cocktail stick to hold everything together...

Homemade thai burgers are always popular too...

Had a few bbqs recently and here's one that has gone down well

Pork chops/belly pork
a lime
soy sauce
ginger
honey

Squeeze the lime juice, some soy sauce, some chopped up ginger and some honey (no real quantities, just get it to your preference) into a plastic bag. Chuck in the pork and leave it for a while (a day is best, but as the sun usually disappears in way less than a day, you can leave it for less). Put it on a hot bbq for about ten minutes, turning a couple of times.

Cut some salmon fillet into approximately 1" cubes, build into kebabs with those really small tomatos and really small shrooms, smother with plum stir fry sauce, cook while continually rotating.

Theyre cooked as soon as the tomatos skin split.

Feckin bonza lovely!

Heard this one from someone I used to work with, on low coals, use a whole leg of lamb, or topside of beef, straight onto the grill and pull lid down. Start drinking a bottle of beer, once the bottle has warmed, pour the rest over the meat and pull lid again, start second beer. Once this has warmed, pour the rest over the meat. Continue untill the meat or your unable to stand any longer, whichever is first
