He was certainly a nice guy.
My actress cousin worked with him on stage and said he was one of the nicest actors she's ever worked with.

I'd heard a few weeks ago he was very poorly - sad news!
They did an interview with him, he always couldn't understand why The Good Life was so popular.... he said he played it as he was!. He was very sorry that Felicity Kendal was out of his life, he hadn't seen or heard from her for years.... he seemed genuinely sad about that, but he did admit she was hot!

Sad day.
I loved The Good Life but my favourite was 'Ever Decreasing Circles'.
His portrayal of Martin,the control-freak organiser of all things nieghbourhood related, was a masterwork of understated comedy that a lot of today's comic actors could learn from.

I have fond memories of all the shows that Richard Briers performed in, seemed like a very nice person and seemed to suit his roles perfectly.
