MP's of all parties should be ashamed of themselves for wasting so much time on a minority issue when there are far more important things to be sorting out.

After all of David Cameron's trials and tribulations over Europe, he now seems to of found an entirely new way of splitting his party down the middle

I voted yes. If you voted no, why do you think you have the right to stop people getting married that want to, why do you care?
Also, why do people think that parliment is only capable of handling one issue at a time? It's not like "ah, we are going to sort out the Gay marriage question so all work on the economy stops".

I find the whole thing intriguing - it wasn't even in the manifesto yet they are devoting an awful lot of effort to it at a time when we really should be dealing with bigger things that affect more than 1% of the population.
So why are they bothering?

Cameron seems to have zero PR skills. I thought this when tax for the rich came down to 45% - didn't bring much cash in but gave the opposition a huge stick to beat the Tories with.
Why he took this gay thing on is beyond me. It is so unimportant in the larger scheme of things. It was blindingly obvious that his core "blue rinse brigade" supporters would get all over heated as well as most folk over a certain age.
Older Tories don't like poofters - it's as simple as that
I don't especially care one way or another although I can see the argument for church christian weddings being about men women and families.

It's something that I'm really not too bothered about so I voted yes. Don't see why gay couples can't do something legally as heterosexual couples can. Same bit of paper for all?

Don't see why they want to be recognised by an institution that thinks they are an abomination (church) they have the civil partnership that gives them the same status as married couples.
Pointless imo, so didn't vote, just the ******* saying look at us, we're special, give us more attention, they can **** each other senseless for all i care, but don't keep pushing it in everyone elses face, excuse the pun.

Who cares? Well, probably the non-heterosexuals as they are "up in arms" about not having the same rights. I don't care, let them have it, not going to affect me is it?

I can't see God being happy about this TBH, if he wanted blokes to go about about bumming each other on sight he would have put only blokes on the planet, I can't help but think there are two different sexes for a reason.
Awaits abuse from the poofters/poofter lovers.

The whole exercise is being used as a political tool...
Think this poll would have been more illuminating if it had been; "do you allow same sex couples to marry in a church?"
Tough one imho as you could equally title it "do you hold the beliefs of same sex couples above those of devout Christians?"
I think it's more erosion of the UKs way of life personally and I'm Agnostic...Cameron is supposed to be using this as an opportunity to try and "detoxify the Tory brand" (not my words!), so I oppose it on those grounds...and I voted Tory last time round.
