Any issues with overheating on them Alistair? I'm also researching in car cameras & the Blackvue's seem to have a few problems despite their impressive spec.
See http://dashcamtalk.com/blackvue-dr40...Known_problems for info.
Also a good thread on kit over on pistonheads here;

A mate of mine has just bought a Roadhawk HD and from what I've seen it's a great bit of kit. However, it doesn't have a parking mode to capture activity via motion detection or force when I'm away from the car. Also the roadhawk isn't as stealthy as the Blackvue.

No overheating issues, but I have mine wired to switched live - means I miss out on the parking mode feature, but I'd rather that than worry about battery drain if I don't use the car for a while.

Yep have both the DR350 and the DR400GHD, highly recommended and looking at the 500 for the new car.
I've not had any overheating issues which I think have mostly been confined to hot countries. Also take a look at the Itronics and Mi Witness versions, they also get good reviews.
