Default Snow shovels

Is it possible to get a decent snow shovel anywhere these days?

The £4 special I got from Horseburgers 'r' Us has worn away and now cracked with only 3 usages.

Of course it is made in China which is a pseudonym for 'absolute crock of **** that will fall to bits in 10 seconds' but then again it was only £4.... where can I get a better one?

We have a store called Mr. Bewan's in our town. They are selling heavy duty ones for £6.99. You don't even get a decent pack of toilet roll these days for 4 quid, you know. Be ready to spend a bit more, don't be so tight.

If I order it online the delivery van won't get up the road unless I clear the snow off the road...... ah

B&Q are the same as Screwfix, maybe they'll have one - I will go and have a look tomorrow!

Yeah I know, but sadly the nearest one is a bit of a way from here and B&Q is much closer.

But you have found a proper product by the looks of it so cheers

Some good ones on ebay as well, make sure the actual shovel head is not too wide or it will be hard to use.

Cannot comment on quality, but Wilkinson's had some in. Wooden shank with plastic shovel for £6 and a better looking metal extendible one for £8. Not sure if there is a store local to you, or if they'd have any left now though, our shop has sold out.

Depends on how much snow to move but wouldnt want to be your back afterwards . lol . Much easier to get a proper snow shovel, even if they only last one winter , its better than being off work due to a bad back

It's a Tesco one I have - they're rubbish! Mind you what did I expect for £4

I think this episode highlights an increasing annoyance of mine. I don't mind cheap **** being sold as long as there is a proper alternative. That is no longer the case for many items. For instance have you tried to buy a decent dustpan and brush recently .... good luck with that.

I know exactly what you mean. We are forever replacing dust pans and brushes. Even metal scrapers are now made out of tinny thin metal which doesn't last long.
