My mate went over last year to find work,
He flew to Singapore and said apart from the long stop over it was a fairly easy and cheap flight.. He did only fly one-way though

I have done this trip a good few times and personally I would rather use Qatar or Emirates as you get a 7 hour flight to the Middle East (Duabi or Doha) and then 10.5 hours on to Perth.
Qatar, Emirates, Singapore and Qanta all serve Perth.
The cheapest will be Qantas, but there's a reason for that
Emirates are the most competitive of the 'good airlines', but Qatar are recently into Perth so you may pick up some good deals. Book direct with Emirates as you get a better deal and you can change your plans a lot easier if you need to if you have booked direct with them.
The trouble with Singapore is you have about 14.5 hours to Sinagapore and 5 hours to Perth, it's a long flight and Changi Airport is more of a shopping centre that happens to have aeroplanes leaving from it than an airport LOL! Some people may like that, but I find it is just too spread out.
Hope that helps.
Oh and if you have never been to Perth it's a stunning city. PM me if you want some advice on things to do there

Emirates via Dubai would work. A380 from LHR then a 777-300 to Perth.
Or you could go Qantas from LHR to Singapore on A380 then a shorter hop to Perth. Personally I'd go QF via Singapore.
As for prices, Kayak, Netflights or Skyscanner.net.
Good luck.

Many thanks for the advise.
My wife and son will be going to visit friends who moved out there 6 months ago.
I wont be going due to cost and the massive flight time.
She will be leaving from Heathrow.
Thanks for the heads up people

I'll add a couple of reasons why I'd choose QF over SQ and EK.
An EK pilot told me they'd like to trial a steeper approach into LHR and had trialled it in the sim. I asked them how the trial went and they said the first few times they'd crashed but had gotten the hang of it.
SQ A380 pilots only use auto brake on landing. Manual braking is for "advanced pilots only" That remark raised a few eyebrows!

The boy lives in Adelaide and we went in September for a month
Manchester / Singapore then a 19 hour wait so we got a transit hotel room
For £50 ( book in advance for £30 ) well worth it for 6 hours quality
Sleep airport is great to look around for a nice break then 6 hours to Adelaide
And was refreshed with no jet lag when arrived
Cost £900
Sometimes broker can be cheaper then websites so shop around
Also qater are flying via dohar well recommended
We normally use the 2 airlines when we go to Cebu every year
Flights are great and relaxing for 22 hours and food is good too
Expensive in Australia though think of your budget and double it

Flying to Cebu regular 22 hours
Having a stop over in Singapore for a day or too helps with jet lag and you can get a nice hotel on orchard road for less then £50
The killer for us is leaving NBO hq at 3am to be at Manchester to check in for 6am as most flights tend to be 930am and the misses is still backing at 1am the night before so we loose another nights sleep
One advantage wth Qatar flights is they are at 330 pm hence we drive down at 10am so least we get a better nights sleep the night before
12 hours flights are ok once you get used to them by the time you eat snacks which can take a couple of hours and 2 movies 3 hours and a power sleep for 2/3 hours and a paper to read for an hour I normally stand at the back where the kitchen area is with a glass of water talking to other passengers for 2hours to pass the time as well
I just cant justify Buisness class at a couple of grand more but if your flush with cash it's a fantastic environment to travel in

Kind of done both, Quantas / BA to Sydney via Singapore (and Perth) and Emirates Birmingham to Christchurch (New Zealand) via Dubai. Both non-stop, it's never bothered me flying 20hrs+ though you're glad when you get there and as it's been for holidays there's plenty of time to recover at the other end.

Much of a muchness really. Dubai probably splits the flight more equally and Emirates are good to fly with but I'd just book whatever was cheapest. Yeah typically about an hour or so stop over. The flight to Oz was effectively direct, Heathrow to Sydney with a fuel stop at Singapore. Just enough time to stretch your legs around the airport. Dubai is a hub for Emirates so an indirect flight first leg being UK to Dubai, second leg Dubai to wherever you're going. On the trip to NZ we were at the airport a big longer than expected as it had all got a bit screwed due to a sandstorm the previous day

I can recommend Air New Zealand as an alternate who might be cheaper. Never used them until last year LHR-LAX and was really impressed. Friendly staff and loved the fact you could order snacks, drinks etc between meals direct on your screen like shopping online and they just bring it straight to your seat. The were really good to us when we told them we were honeymooning. Going to first class and keeping us topped up with champers and various spirits that weren’t avail in cattle class. My brother lived in NZ for 3 years and used them as airline of choice for his flights to the US and UK.
We went LHR-MEL with Cathay via HKG as worked out cheapest for us (with many internal flights included) and that was fine but not as good as I remember. Would pick Qatar or Emirates over them tbh.
Long flights are fine on the way out but do drag on the way home. For our honeymoon we went to French Polynesia and I worked out that from rising on our final day at the hotel, getting on a boat, internal flight, Tahiti to LAX, 5hr stop over (2.5hr in immigration as LAX sucks), on to LHR to getting taxi home that we were up some 45 hours! I had about 1-2 hrs sleep during that time. It was well worth it though.
