Clay Pigeon Shooters
It’s been quite a while since I shot clays properly but now trying to get back into it. I have been so infrequently I just bought cartridges at venues but they are usually the bargain basement ones and different types. Now looking to get back into it so after some cartridge recommendations. I will be doing Sporting mostly but there are so many cartridge options available. I want something around the fiver a box mark (buying 250 or 500) must be fibre.
Are 28g White Gold XLR’s any good?
Is there any noticeable difference between size 7.5 and 8 shot?
Cheers

I shoot world cup 7.5s (Express). Have done for 10 years now. Very good ammo. I shoot on 1/2 and 1/4 and the same gun too for the last 15 years or so. We are also on fibre too but used to shoot the plastic version also very good. Sadly, not cheap these days at £220 ish for 1000..
Its boring but it gets me the results I want and the gun can still outshoot my skills so I am far from equipment limited!!
Hull is also a good brand but I started shooting with express a loooong time ago and stuck with it. There are a few budget shells out there now which I hear very good things about, and cheap at about £130-£150 / 1000.
If you are getting real serious you will have to start to fine tune your set up though which is where I would seek the advice of a pro.
Its all about fun for me now, I used to be a bit more serious but I cant put the time in these days and still have lots of other shooting to do so I try and get out when I can and put in a respectable card every now and then.
HTH!
