What's your New Years Eve plans then?
I've tried to organise something with my group of friends and it has literally taken 2 months to finally get something sorted. With 3 days to go, we have only just made a decision and will be spending the night out in Cheltenham. God, I bloody hate organising things for a group of 10 lads because no one can make their mind up! I thought it was the girls that were bad....?? would have been quite happy spending it down the local with a quiet pint, a dodgy juke box, and knackered pool ques...

Staying in, went out last year for the first time(never been bothered with it before) and ended up getting arrested for the first and last time in my whole life.

Depends if the water companies have fixed the water leaks...they probably haven't as if they did the reservoirs would overflow!
Think I'll be doing f**k all this NYE. It was alright ten years ago when all the old mates all came back to the area to see family and clobbered back into town into the local. But now they all settled down in various parts of the country, its just not the same. So the only reason I'd be out on the town if I was a) going to get blind drunk or b ) go on the pull.
The problem with a) is it always ends with something bad, and the problem with b) is I need a) to lower my standards enough.

Got kids, so am going around to my sister's and brother-in-law's. Bit of food & booze. All the kids can play together and we can get p1ssed. Fortunately, we live about 900 yrds away.
Ironically, our parents have more of a NYE social than we do...... that CAN'T be right.
TBH, already getting the frame of mind to assess this year and move on to 2013. Looking good so far

I stopped organising things long ago because of the above, and the other is we're all grown up and some have families and thus became boring and don't go out.
I can see why some don't bother with new years anymore though for reasons stated on this thread.
Been offered to go to some pub and i agreed, only to be then told by someone else not go because its one of the roughest pubs and is always fights...

This will be my first NYE alone since my wife deserted us, my youngest son will be 18 on NYE, I'll need to be home to pilot him past obstacles like front door, stairs and bedroom door.
My other sons now live away and will be doing their own thing.
I am looking forward to seeing the fireworks from my 'penthouse'.

Same as always, Me and the misters will be bound for the pub @ 18:00 sharp to get some seats, Then @ 19:30 the whimmins will arrive and we will party the night away drinking far too much and ending the night singing Auld Lang Syne.
