I love my meat ..... but, it's not chased until it is so tired it hides in a hole, it is then dug out of the hole and thrown to the hounds.

I wouldn't eat meat which arrived at my table after such cruelty, to suggest otherwise is blatant stupidity.

Modern farming methods are arguably more barbaric.

You can't moralise here..

Well put, What type of sick ba$tard would actually see this act of cruelty as being sport anyway? It's probably the least sporting thing ever.

If animals need culling then fine, but I don't see why some stuck up ***** sitting on a horse should get a jolly good laugh and a day out because of it.

We all know that they still hunt foxes .... they use a fox scent ...........

They should be made to use another scent, like Channel Number 5 or something ..... then you could chase a Toff tory!!

What's Channel 5 got to do with this? I mean, they show some crap films, but leave them alone.

I think the tory toffs are so out of touch with reality, it would scare me if any were in our goverment running the country. I would rather Basil Brush was in charge.

It's ok. At this point in the festive season you're allowed to put it down to alcohol.

Fu**ing retard Foxhunting is barbaric though and should command at least a 10 year jail term for animal abuse.

Lets not forget that its all layers of the public that "enjoy" sport like this.
Fox hunting, dog fighting, badger baiting etc etc. Can`t see a Tory Fundee attending the baiting of a badger, or a dogfighting ring in an inner city wasteland.

All "sport" like this needs to be gotten rid of, foxes can be shot much easier, and more humane. The hunting part has gone from how it used to be, as the land isn't as it was 300 years ago, farms are much more open with less cover. It actually used to be hard to catch a fox, as the fox had a 90% chance of escape.

But I think the tradition was to show the people on the land who owned the land, by riding all over the land by the landowners and their mates. Which now means sod all as people own their own land and property now, and most do not live on Estate Land.

No cruelty to animals is acceptable, and the people inflicting the cruelty should be strung up.

So only Tory toffs go out hunting?? Are you lot really that stupid. Hunts include those from all walks of life inc both farmhands and landowners. At least little foxy vermin has had a good life up until he gets it, unlike all of the pigs, chickens etc that are cruelly intensively farmed here in the UK. Why don't you get off our fat ***** and campaign against those if your so concerned about animal welfare. Or are you all weirdo feckin veggies

Tally Ho!

Can't we have disgraced mp's from all walks dress up as brae fox and be run round the countryside for a few hours only to be pulled apart

I'd pay to see that

Animals are still hunted in the wild anyway that's how nature works. i'm neither for or against it but there are far crueler things being done to animals than an ongoing tradition, that kept the majority of farms and cities vermin free.
Since the ban cities are now overrun with urban foxes which have attacked a baby in its house as well as the foxes killing cats and rabbits as such, I think it shouldn't be any of your business if it doesn't concern you I.e if you had your own farm and where losing livestock or money then you could comment support the ban

That's my 2pence on it anyway I'm not here to cause conflict.

I would imagine all those so interested in animal rights will now be boycotting shell petrol then since they have just destroyed wetlands and fishing grounds by spilling 2 million gallons of oil into the sea off nigeria.

Save seabirds ban v power

In rural France if there are too many foxes in an area and they are becoming a problem to the farms the farners go out and shoot them. They don't seem to need umpteen horses, packs of dogs and a bunch of morons with a thirst for animal cruelty to control the issue over there.

It has nothing to do with pest control and everything to do with being sadistic *****!

And you don't need to be brought up in the country to have a valid opinion about it either, people who live in towns can understand animal cruelty when they see it just fine!

As for tradition we used to burn witches at the stake.... should we bring that back too?
