Anyone else working/on-call over Xmas?
I suppose i shouldn't complain really, but working tomorrow as normal then on-call during the night, off xmas day and boxing day. It's a part of my job i really hate (on-call), i just hope i get time to come home for the kids going off to bed.
Anyone else working?

I've escaped this year. Last year I was on call (read working) 30/31/1st. 72 fricking hours on the trot.
Two years before I was doing the same on 24th/25th.
Personally I find working on Christmas worse than New Year even though I'm more or less an atheist.
This year I'm off for both!

I am working all over Christmas, but by choice as don't see the point of having time off when the days are short, it's cold and it p1sses down all the time.

On call, and 3 of us are scheduled to do some mailserver upgrades starting at 01:00 on 26 December as it's likely to be the quietest time of the year and the only really feasible time to do it. So it will be christmas dinner, to bed for a few hours sleep (if I can) then up at midnight and start preparing the upgrade.

nightshift tonight and tomorrow night, so atleast come in tomorrow morning just in time for boy getting up.
thats 7 years on the trot ive worked xmas day, either eve - into day, dayshift , or xmas night into boxing day. this first new year off in 7 years though, id rather work that however lol.
just my shift pattern, and for next 6 years i wont work a xmas shift - unless someone wants a shift swap.
