Default average SN cafine intake

whats averages joes relationships with cafine, need a coffee to wake up every day?
4-8 cups per day, or make an effort to go decaf, or even a herbal tea, maybe red bull or cafinated soft drink?

do you know, or care how many mg of caffine you consume daily - and would you consider it a health risk/or worry about consuming too much?

habitual as part of your day, or really feel sh*t, sore heads ect without it?

what role does it play in your life if any?

Having said that, since I gave up smoking (still stopped BTW ) about four weeks ago I have been drinking less. So I would guess 8 cups.

used to drink loads of Diet Coke , but i go out of my way to get caffine free now. Headaches , always got a serious downer on workdays , couldve slept and couldnt be arsed doing anything from 3pm onwards. Although god knows what else is in the caffine free thats probably bad for you .

for me the smell of freshly ground coffee is amaxing, however it tastes horrible and has a horrible aftertaste.

once when dieting i used it as a supplement and mistakenly consumed 2X200mg caffine tabs, which left me feeling severly ill, and ive avoided ever since - with the odd can of red bull once per month, and cups of tea 1 x daily, green tea 2-3 times daily.

ive a problem with social anxiety and high-ish dose caffine made symptoms so much worse, lesson learned.

but i see work colleagues guzzle easy 6 cups per day, and often complain of needing a cup to get going daily. think my bad experience has put me off for life

I woulden't dream of leaving the house in the morning without two cups, even if I were to sleep in I still woulden't leave the house without my caffeine intake.

Not allowed caffeine so a big zero from me...

Was a tricky thing to give up as I used to drink loads.

The yanks actually recognise caffeine withdrawal as a medical condition

Don't think I've ever felt myself withdrawing from it before?

On 2-10 shifts, 2-3 cups. That's one in the morning sometimes, one at 3.30 coffee break and one at 7.30 coffee break. 6-2 shifts is one as soon as on the workshop floor, one at 7.30 coffee break and one at 11.30 coffee break.

I try to have no more than 4 cups on a weekday, maybe one on a weekend. Avoid energy drinks like the plague unless out drinking with mates or raving (energy drink keeps me going whilst others are on disco biscuits/Scunny talc).

I try and stay away from caffeine as much as possible. If I'm doing a long drive (especially at night) I usually have 1 or 2 cans of red bull.

I've recently started having a pre workout supplement before the gym which will obviously be loaded with the stuff but I don't take much notice or care of how much I consume

it is actually a drug, and carries side effects including dependancy issues - so i can understand why some companies wouldnt want it influencing employees.

depending on the person withdrawl can be fairly serious - most consumers id say are habitual consumers - part of a routine (similar to addiction) but yet the mg content is rarely known or considered - or indeed products which contain it.

id sat many drugs have pros and cons, i can see the pros (and cons) of caffine for some

but do people worry about there consumption levels or maybe make efforts to reduce intake beleiving a health benefit from lower consumption? or just its part of life?

I rarely ever have coffee, don't really like it.

However, I drink quite a bit of tea and I'm not sure how much caffeine is in that. On a work day, I usually have around 4/5 rather large mugs, but on a day off, the amount is a lot higher.

in mot sure about caffine in tea, think its abit less than regular coffee, but its usually in dark and milk chocolate too,
theres too many variences amongst manufactureres to get a decent level through blands of tea, caffine drinks and chocolate ect

what are you tested for, where caffine could give a false positive result - just stimulants?

Can't stand coffee. At most I'll have one cup of tea a day, sometimes not even that. I do however have at least one can of diet coke a day.

I used to drink about 20 cups between 8 > 6.

Had problems sleeping etc

Went cold tuckey for a week to see what the effects would be, was terrible - Massive head aches, unable to concentrate, felt sick.

Now I treat my self with one double espresso in the mornings and an instant at 10am.

I am a morning person and don't need a coffee boost early in the day.
I have tea with breakfast and every meal.
First coffee of the day is with elevenses.
Then another couple between tiffin and evening meal, after this it's a cafetiere coffee an hour until 10ish, then just water until I go to bed.

Then up every hour having a pee.

Have to have a coffee first thing at home, and then I normally go to my local deli and ave one of theirs on the way to work.

Will consume around 5-6 mugs a day ( I don't do cups).

My problem is that I struggle with the taste of normal instant coffees so although its certainly not the best, I tend to use Starbucks Via sachets at home for convenience and take them to work.

A nice packet of beans from my deli which i freshly grind at home on the weekends.

And I certainly get headaches without the stuff.

2-3 cups of tea, 2-4 coffees depending on the day. The coffee must be decent and not instant!

Highly recommend the Handpresso Wild machine. Makes great coffee, no mess, no power needed, just hot water , can take it anywhere. Use it all the time at home and in the camper.

I drink loads of tea in work but I get Decaf.

I will drink energy drinks on a night out or when I'm getting sleepy on long car journeys.
