Talk to me about Blu-Ray players - which one's good?
Wifey wants a Blu-Ray player to chrimbo (to add to the collection of DVDs we NEVER feckin watch!)
However, we've got an LG tv so is it worth taking advantage of the "simplink" function associated with an LG player?
Or go with a different model/brand?
Or as it's all digital anyway (inc output via HDMI), does it really matter?
Advice welcome.

I'd recommend a Panasonic Blu-Ray as they always fair quite well during reviews.
That said mine is plugged into a Panasonic TV and the Viera link thingy is quite useful as you can do it all from the TV remote

+1. The cross compatibility with a Pana TV is dead handy when you lose one of the remotes!

Yeh, I had honestly looked at PS3, but I've xbox360 and Wii, and I'm not overly keen on having a 3rd console.... that won't get used (just like the other two!)
Plus everything else the PS3 does, my TV does anyway.
Soooo, I'm looking at a 3D blu-ray player (despite not having a 3D tv...yet )
Will probably look at the LG player due to the "simplink" setup (essentially the same tech as Panasonic's "Viera" setup)
Thanks

We have two of these....

Firmware update on AVForums makes it multi-region for BOTH DVD and BluRay, superb for the money. You have to be a seriously picky b@$t@rd to see the difference between BDP's.
