It's been snowing on and off all day here but as I have winter tyres on my car and am not in the UK there won't be any problems getting home

Heard it here first? Yes. But heard it from the Met Office three days ago (as a forecast) and from ECMWF as a possibility a week ago.

It will turn out the usual doom and gloom, lucky to get a couple of inches of snow and it all will grind to a halt !

Speye, you are a legend.

When you say east, will this be North east or south?

Will the weather affect Heathrow? (area wise)

Cheers
Steve

What's happening with 'the beast from the east' as it's predicted it will also hit London and the South East? Yet if I look at other weather forecasts for where I live there is no suggestion of snow. Once again these weather sites all say different forecasts.

local forecasts (High Wycombe) don't look too bad (-2 +/-).

Possibility of a bit of a dusting on Thurs / Fri - then warms up again.

/edit. Things get interesting from the 20th

I think he's dropped one on this.

Looks like the Met office got it bang on, and Speye (the legend apparently) got it badly wrong. Of course things might change.

All mention of an Artic Blast and Snow have been shelved ..... Friday will see 12 degrees and rain. All of next week is very mild with no sign of snow.

December 24th is forecast to see heavy snow and the 25th is expected to be so bad that no-one will be able to get into work.
