They needed my Bank Details to pay the money in ....... that's just business.
I found it a little odd that they wanted my Credit Card details and 3 numbers on the back to verify who I was - but, being the Government, it should be OK?

I fill in self assessments on-line, they have my email address from there, however my son has just received a cheque in the post. I would be looking at the headers of the email closely, but I would have thought they would be genuine IF you have communicated with them before via email, but if you haven't!!
