Default sleep issues

i as probably many do suffer from sleeping problems. ive read all about lifestyle issues that can affect this. but ive always kindof thought of it as a semi genetic issue- to which i still beleive holds some credance.

but do sufferers have techniques that they find help drifting off, or maintain a decent rest period? ive recently readca lot on the issue and found a few techniques that definately worked for me. not instant cures but defo pointed md in a direction i hadnt considered.
i undestand my own thoughts/anxieties and processes but just couldnt tailor them to my advantage. and its worked on occassion.- so buy my book at £199 for the answers lol

I`ve never been a good sleeper. It was made worse when I started shiftwork. Usually takes me ages and ages to drop off and once I do I`m awake every hour or 2 The only time I `sleep` well is inbetween my nights but apparently daytime sleep isn`t restfull sleep!

Beer just puts you into an "alcohol induced coma" where your brain stays active as you sleep. That`s why most people wake up feeling just as tired as when they went to bed!

The best thing to do is when you go to your bed make sure you lie as near to the edge of the mattress as possible....

....you'll soon drop off

I too have sleep problems, been awake since 04:30 today, problem is I'm not sure there's much I can do about an 18 month old toddler Little git, had the cheek to spend the best part of three hours asleep at nursery yesterday for which we pay good money for, told the staff to wake him after an hour or so now from his daytime nap. Falling asleep in the car this morning too as I was dropping him off, all right for you, some of us have got to work

Not sure if you've heard of a product by Dorian Yates called GH Blast? It supposedly helps with sleep, I've heard a few people rating it.

There's another product by Biorythm that I'm currently taking called Regenerate.. It helps me get into a deeper sleep

Maybe worth looking into?

This is from our local psychology dept. It may seem a little basic but I hope it helps.

I blame the CBS Action channel on Sky (channel 148) for putting NCIS and now Ultimate Force on at 1am & 2am, I know that they are on earlier but I am usually doing other stuff at that time (not naughty stuff unfortuantely ) so usually miss them. I have tried watching some of the channel's above 900 but they are no good anymore

ive had tramadol in the past and resulted in horrible nightmares, not much use as a sleep aid for me.
sleeping techniques rather than drugs from valium to alcohol are what i desire. ive had some results with "kaleidoscope" method on short term use.

the problem is lack of ability to settle on a single thought and to see it through to result in driftng off, with continual jumping from though to thought - not worries ect just random tanjents that doesnt result in dozing off.

Warm milk and honey and then start by sleeping on your right (less stress on your organs and allows your blood to flow correctly).
