Liverpool, the City.
Being a Scouser by birth I am pleased to announce.
Liverpool has been announced as one of the safect places in the country to live.
Stereotypes are so yesterday's pizza.

Check it out here, so many things to see and do, a visit to the waterfront (Pier Head) is a must as is the new Museum of Liverpool at the waterfront.

You will not be disappointed at the museum, it's so different from any other.
I've changed the link in my first thread, the Mirror added a stupid video.

My father was a Plymouth Argyle supporter, but his second team was Liverpool because they made Dinky Toys there. That is all.

Yes indeed, all part of the Meccano Company as you'll know. Dad was a Dinky boy (and man) mainly and he had one of the largest collections in the South West, which I now look after. I sold the small amount of Dublo he gave me, but kept the pre-war 0 gauge; it has something special about it.

I still remember us docking in Liverpool on our return from our training in Canada.
The thing that really struck us was the awful smell which was almost unbearable after a week in clean Atlantic air.

Maritime Museum is free and well worth a visit. Can spend a short time there and not feel like you're being ripped off.
Beatle related stuff, if you're a fan.
DUKW tour.
Liverpool One shopping for the gf. And the best joke shop name which is the Everton club shop "Everton 2", Liverpoool One
Crosby for Antony Gormley's iron men.

As already mentioned the various (free!) museums are good, also the big wheel at the Albert Dock - you get a great view over the city and an interesting commentary. The city centre is quite compact so you can walk everywhere and don't forget to have a drink in the Cavern Club.

This is somewhat true..
I live in Warrington which is next to Liverpool and every car theft I've heard about that has happend in Warrington, the police have always reported back to the owner saying it was last seen leaving the M62 going into Liverpool LOL

Doesn't mean that they were from Liverpool though, could be your locals needing to get to Liverpool on the cheap.

Over last 7-8 years, I have been working off-and-on in some so-called worst areas of Liverpool (including where Ross Kemp went and interviewed the gangs), and faced no trouble whatsoever. Even in those areas, I see most young people holding on to their family values, which is heart warming. 16-to-24 year-olds connecting with their parents, grandparents and siblings is a rarity in the rest of the UK. Police officers and Third Sector are doing some very good community work there, and a lot of young people are working shoulder-to-shoulder with them.
I was there a fortnight ago with some work. I couldn’t find the new venue, so I asked a lady in the leopard prints sleep suit, who was talking to a man in the trekkies on the street. The helpful duo gave me perfect directions. IMO L’puddlers are very friendly and down to earth peeps.
The city is worth visiting. Nice museums and good places to eat out.
I wouldn't walk back from a pub for miles on my own/with someone in L'pool, fair play. But would I do that anywehre else, apart from my village, where the pub is across the road from me? No. I don't even do that in my village, as I don't do pubs unless there's a band playing or something. You have to be sensible everywhere, not just in L'pool.

Blend in people watching while you sip from your cans of special brew, lounging in the city centre. Enjoy shoplifting from any of the local emporia. Or if you fancy a faster pace, why not join some of the locals for some good hearted TWOCing?

When it's windy, they order in a mobile windbreak.
