New Star Wars film Episode 7 in 2015
There will ne a new Star Wars film in 2015, after Disney purchased Lucas Arts.

Then more to follow. I'm not sure if Disney could make them any worse than Episode 1, but I have a feeling they could.
What do you think we'll get?

Agreed i think the original episode 4, 5 and 6 are excellent then 1, 2 and 3 were crap made partly due to public/fan demand but were poor and as with any film franchise the more made the worse it gets. Imo

I don't see the problem with 1, 2 & 3.
Never have done.
May be because I am not a massive Star Wars nut job!
I agree though that Disney making 7 is just a bit daft. The story has been concluded.
Let it die.

The only thing I can think of is that Disney have also bought the scripts to episodes 7,8 and 9 which Lucas wrote at the same time as the other six and these will make the basis for the next three films.

As long as there is no more Jar Jar!

The films will certainly be aimed at a younger audience, but then so were the original films which had such a lasting impact on those of us who first saw them back in the seventies. With Disney's budget as long as the stories and scripts are good the films will be good. Lucas could have done anything within reason to restart the back story and we ended up with the absolutely very awful Phantom Menace.

And I just can't think why Disney, who have just paid $2.5 billion would want ressurect a series virtually guaranteed to make a return on that investment

On the plus side: Disney can create a good story and have access to the best visual effects in the biz.
On the negative side, if they use it as a vehicle for promoting Disney club talent, it'll blow!
I think they "could" pull this off!

Has anyone seen the fan edits of the old star wars films? For those who want to dump Jar Jar, I suggest you take a look at "The Phantom Edit" for a re-do of ep1. It still has Jar Jar, but all the things that make him a ridiculous character have been edited out, along with some other editing, so it makes a much more serious story. Worth a look..

If they involve the Pixar people I think things will be fine
But if they go the Disney Club route, I fear the end result is going to make Ep1 look like a masterpiece
