Default Dress Code - cocktail

As per the title what is your interpretation of a dress code if it says cocktail?

I have an invite next week for a film premiere, and I'm not sure if this should be black tie, dinner suit or something else?

Help please!

Surely if it says 'cocktail', then you HAVE to go in a little dress.

Put the pics up here.

Actually a decent suit and tie is required. Trainers are out (unless you star in the film

Cocktail is alright - I was once given an invite to someone's 40th on a private beach on Cap Ferrat that said "dress code : Beachside chic". Try that out on your other half...

Given that most of the people there were going to be arriving by their own private jet (we arrived on easy jet) it almost caused Mrs FB to have a breakdown

Me - unshaven, Hawaiian shirt, Bermudas, flip flops and shades total cost about 50 quid -fitted in beautifully

Mrs FB - about 3 grands worth of clothes, 8 weeks of mental anguish before and a month after of "did you think my outfit it was alright then" - questions which clearly no bloke in his right mind is going to give a straight answer on

Cocktail = lounge suit for the men. Tie preferrable but not always required

Ok so silly question time, what dictates a "lounge suit"?

Am I thinking a nice suit with a non work-shirt, no tie, would fit the bill?

Is "cloak room" a new term for a lady place?

A smart suit should do the business.

well the premiere was last night, and it was fantastic!

if you're a Bond fan and you liked Casino Royale, you will love this film.

Aston Martin kindly kept the champagne and beer flowing until the wee hours, a fantastic new experience for me.

highlight notwithstanding the film was asking a ginger girl to get out of the way so I could get to the gents, and realising it was Princess Beatrice

We are one of the partners of the film alongside Aston Martin, Sony etc. but on a much smaller scale.

Head is pounding, had 3 hours sleep - all for a worthy cause though.

The film was really good. I wont spoil it for you, but there's a scene where Bond fights an assasin, and the suitcase we made is an intergral component.

Loved it, will be taking the mrs this weekend to go see it.

Hi Les, generally speaking the ladies wore what I would class as wedding type outfits and the guys wore a mixture of suits, and smart jackets.

There were a smattering of tie wearers and I spotted one cravat.

Yup the smart suit and lively shirt combo was ideal.

Had a fantastic time thanks, rather over indulged with the drink though

Glad you enjoyed it.

On another note, I once supplied equipment to a Bond film but never got an invite....bugger.

Did you cop a sneaky feel as you squeezed past her?
