Anybody Any Good With Showers?
Evening All
For some reason our shower is playing up at home, was working fine last night and now its just dribbling out although tries to power up then dies.
Its a gainsborough 8.5 se if that helps.
Attached a video, at about 12 seconds you hear it try to power up then die and dribble again.

Any ideas or is it shagged?

Does it not have a low pressure warning light? Not had any new houses built round you that have tapped into the mains dropping your water pressure have you?

I am an expert on this but I would need to diagnose it properly.Stand back from shower with camcorder, get wife to climb in naked, she must be naked to get full diagnostic information.Switch it on ,get her to lather up whilst looking directly into camcorder.
I dont charge for friends but to stay friends you must do this immediately !!

Looks like it maybe blocked, particularly common if water company has had a mains shutdown to do work in the area. Start by disconnecting the hose from the shower and inspect, if that seems ok sometimes there are filters on the inlet side of the shower. Turn off your power and water and inspect.

Is it a power shower, could be the motor that is knackered. On mine it's an easy swap with the motor but cheaper to replace the whole thing.

Thanks for the sensible and not so sensible answers. Think there were some water works done nearby recently but that was weeks ago.
I think its a power related thing, the water is hard but this has suddenly gone from working fine to not in a few minutes.
And no I wasn't naked. I was stood in the bathroom fully clothed. Odd as that may sound.

We had the exact same shower and the same problem, the (cheap, crappy) heat exchanger had gone. Returned the internals to Gainsborough for replacement. Did this 3 times before I gave up with them and replaced it with a better quality shower.

A solenoid is about a tenner...heat exchanger dont bother replace the shower......the solenoid opens and allows water flow when power is applied (similar to what operates water on/off on a washing machine. If the showers a few years old replace it,Gainsborough is a rubbish make

My grandson came round to visit yesterday and when my wife went to the kitchen to make a cup of tea he said, "Grandad, why does Grandma always smell of wee?"
"Well, you're six years old now so I guess that I should give you an honest explanation", I said, putting an arm around his shoulder. "Now tell me Charlie, have you ever heard of a golden shower?"
