A friend of mine, when the scratch cards first came out, bought some mayonnaise from a local corner shop one Saturday afternoon (he'd forgotten to buy some at the supermarket earlier that day and wife had sent him to corner-shop to get some). When he was at the till the owner asked him if he wanted a lottery scratch-card as they'd just had the machine installed. He took two cards, won nothing on the first and a quid on the second.
When the owner asked him what he wanted - a quid or another ticket - he took another ticket and won £50,000. Collected the cheque from a Camelot office on the following Monday.

Perhaps you could have spent some of the money on some English writing lessons though.......

£50 on my very first one. Bought 3 when they first started doing them 1 for me and each of my brothers. Good pick I made. Since then nothing more than £5 / £10 / £20 that I can recall. Whenever I pop to local Spa I get one as must win something every other time I go there. My lucky little shop.

When I turned 16 I won 50 quid on the first scratchcard I ever bought. Never really bought any since.
I know someone who spends about 40 quid a week on scratch cards, then she has the cheek to moan on Facebook that the government does not give her enough to send her kids to school in decent clothes.

You didn't miss out, you just happened to be behind the guy who won! The algorithm for random numbers will be based on time values, and the chances of you getting the same numbers he got just because you would have been in his place in the queue are probably about the same as the odds for winning the lottery full stop............

Oh and I think you'll find the 'smilie' (that's the little yellow face that is winking - that's wInking) denotes he is joking, having a laugh, pulling your leg; so don't take everything so personally, I'm sure if he was trying to insult you he would!!

As was pointed out by some wit years ago, you've more chance of Elvis Presley landing a flying saucer on the Loch Ness monster than you have of winning the jackpot on the lottery.
But I still do it though....

Aaaaanyway...
Mrs won £100 on one of those £2 scratch cards. I think it had 3 games on it. First one is spot a certain symbol, win the amount. She did. Then the second game was something like find an amount with another symbol and the third game was a multiplication of that amount. So I was at work and got a text. "Won 'x' amount". 2 seconds later, "no, it's 20 quid". 2 seconds later, "no, it's £100"...
