Default Iphone - Jailbreak

Hi all,

Ive been given a friends old iphone4 which had a Vodaphone sim in it, but I want to use a O2 chip instead will jailbreaking it do the trick ?? If so, has anyone done it / give me any help ?

IVe searched google, and there's tons of ways but most look iffy and mean downloading spyware rubvbish on your pc.

IVe got all the codes / security number for the phone, and have recently cleared it all down and reset it back to default, but just need to unlock the phone provider issue.

Too much hassle. He's over inthe USA now for 2 months for work, so doubt he could be bothered to ring up etc etc. Hence why I need to get it done myself.

Well that's the only way , jailbreaking it won't do it.

You could software unlock it but it's a major pita

Doubt that would be a proper hardware unlock though, as in it'll be software unlock, meaning you won't be able to update to the latest OS without losing the unlock.

Yeah that's the down side, but it will mean he can get by until his friend returns to unlock it properly.
