Default ***** Riot - Guilty, who cares!

Would there be an outcry if some skank Brit Feminist group kicked off in St Paul's Cathedral?

When in Rome as they say. But headline Breaking News, no.

Just saw Kate Nash on BBC News spouting about what happened, how inarticulate is that woman, keep the campaign going like that and it will die in days!

feminist Ukranian muff diving skanks in a band, going to prison for sounding off about feminisim and drinking from the furry cup I think.

It gets airtime probably because in the UK we'd be all nicey nice with them and in Russia they'll be beaten and sent to a Gulag (or something equally sinister)

Checkmate!

There might be but would it be cause for a trial?

I honestly cannot believe this is headline news in the UK.

I doubt anyone has ever heard one of their songs.

If it has to be spelt out, it's headline news here because of its part in the bigger picture of virtual dictatorship that's creeping over Russia.

Then make the headline "Putin clamps down on peaceful protests"

That's the point.

Seems odd to me that there is such a fuss about this when far worse is happening in other countries - China, N Korea and Burma to name three and Syria doesn't even bear thinking about.

I heard a defence lawyer say they might go to European Court of Human Rights, but what the hell jurisdiction do they have over Russia?

One could argue that this country might be a better place to live if there was a bit more respect given to authority.

The same jurisdiction as they have over any other of the signatories of the European Convention on Human Rights that all 47 members of the Council of Europe claim to abide by. The ECHR is nothing (directly) to do with the European Union, contrary to popular belief.

Did you not realise that they publicly criticised the Russian leadership and that you can only expect a similar reaction in that country ?

Worth knowing the facts really!

Is there a law in Russia against criticising Putin in a church? And if there is, is it just?

Look at and listen to the news reports if you have not done so yet Tony and work it out for yourself!

What charge?

He hasn't been charged with anything at all as yet. That's kind of the issue.
