Women's uneven bars question
Why do they now have them so far apart? is this just the new style thesedays ?
Also why is it the Chinese insist on having their coaches standing underneath them almost giving them a 'helping hand' ?

I really am struggling to understand how it is a health & safety issue as it only seems to be the eastern countries with the coaches running underneath the contenstants and sticking their hands in
If is was H&S then they would all be doing it
Plus I would imagine its a damn site more off putting to have someone running underneath you beign a major distraction

I don't think there is any point arguing Heath and Safety as gymnasts will often have falls and some even hurt themselves badly. For the uneven bars there are mats underneath after all. But all events for gymnasts are potentially dangerous and they all train in order to carry out the event properly. If H&S was an issue the event would be changed for all.

PMSL I almost wrote Bras as a deliberate mistake knowing you pervy lot
The coach touching them will lose them 0.5 points
I really don't see the point in them, if they can't do the move without the coach standing their shoving their hands in the way then they shouldn't do the move
As I said though it appears to only be the eastern countries doing it

There was an incident a few years back when after performing several fast loops then exiting the high bar the girl in question on her way down caught her feet on the lower bar / she landed on her head broke her neck & sadly died
So distance was increased throught the sport
& coaches were allowed at will to stand as guardians
That is my belief anyway to the op question

Since the coach's are standing in to try to protect the gymnast if they did come off the bar then I cant see why anyone should object. It is a dangerous occupatation whatever anyone says. I imagine the coach is there to try to protect the athlete from the worse kind of injury as far as is possible.
