Time to ditch cooking on TV?
Just looked at the schedule this morning & there are cooking programmes on BBC2,ITV & channel 4 all at the same time. This seems to have been going on for years & is only a drop in the ocean as there are hundreds of chefs on TV.
Also it dosen't seem to have had much effect on the food industry cleaning up it's act & making food labelling factual or stopping the supermarkets hammering the producers into the ground.
Does anyone actually watch these & use any of the recipes?
Surely by now we must of seen every bloomin' meal combo!!

as sad as it sounds i use ingrediants i sometimes see and cooking techniques i see also. im not a fan of the getting celebs on and pish, i like Rick Stien (sp) and that kind of thing to watch. some tv chefs are proper pr*cks though.
i do enjoy many cooking shows but 3 on at the same time, is pushing it lol
i love food, nutrition ect its a great interest of mine, and im sure im a tiny minority - so for those with no interest - it is indeed sh*te telly lol but its the same for me at night with the endless soaps ect all of which i agree with f1-fan are the worst programmes on the telly, the most, wooden actors, shockingingly predictable and boring storylines and just generally a total waste of time watching.

I think the most popular cooking show at the moment is Come Dine with Me. I know a few people who want to go on it.
I have never made use of these cooking programmes, and found them utterly boring TBH. But if I had to watch it, I did pick one or two good tips. Not that I remember them now, it was so long time ago.

altho balsamic i think has extra sugar added to it over and above the norm i think.
sugar and salt arent as bad as made out, its more about how they are used as seasoning or flavourings used ontop of foods that already contain them.
like processed foods ect, the ingrediants used already have sugars and salts fats in them, and then manufacturers add more ontop of this when there is not really aneed - but its usually used to compensate for poor quality origional ingrediants.
and they use the tricks of the current media situation regarding nutrition - fats for example, weight watchrs or diet meals aree often sold on the fat content alone??? 20% less fat then x,y or z?? so what, that means nothing - and often these are laced with added salts or sugars.
thats why i like the cooking programmes tbh - cook your own food from scratch with ingrediants you choose (when have time obviously)

I love them all except Oliver, he`s too up himself for my liking. Only problem I have have with these shows is it gives me an appetite and I find myself staring in the fridge at the ad breaks.

Don't bother with any of the big name chefs any more, seen 'em, bored of 'em, can't be bothered with 'em. Watch Simply Italian last night with Michela Chiappa (mmmm), and a few of those in Paris in that girls tiny kitchen (?). Can't stand Come Dine with Me

Ironically watched by the stay at home millions waiting for Jeremy Kyle to come on. Perhaps there should be more re-heating shows to reflect the audience's use of the mcrowave.
