Looking to swap the forks (both Rock Shox forks) between two identical bikes (aside from frame size, one medium and one small)

I'm guessing if the bearings are in good condition I can simply swap them over without needing to replace the bearings and simply leave the star nuts in place?

Obviously I'll need to play about with the spacers/cut down the longer of the two steerer tubes, but should it be a simple swap?

Yes, but if one is a longer steerer tube, will the short one fit in it's place?

Oh, and knock the star nut further in BEFORE sawing the tube.

The short one has more spacing, so yes, it will fit.

Are the crown races compatible which each headset. You might need to swap them over as well.

Headsets are the same on each bike mate, bikes are the same make and model.
