Personally, I'm glad she's been charged as I can't believe she had no knowledge or involvement in the disgusting practice.

it is interesting, and confirms the truism that it is always the cover up that trips people up
Perjury is a very serious offence
I do think that “power” infects people, and they seem to think ordinary laws etc do not apply to them – “hubris” I think is the term

Being cynical, will she go wibble due to the 'stress' or have a well timed pregnany around the time of the trial.
Or will there be a number of people worried about any dirt she may have kept hidden in reserve

Word on the street is her recent adoption of a baby (by a surrogate mother)was a ruse to avoid a custodial sentence

Waste of time and money. Listening to people's answerphones isnt cool, I accept that. But the UK press has undercovered many a nasty situation which has benefitted the UK public when published.
I dont agree with the way they did it, but come on now, do you reckon the government and it's teams do anything different ?
Watching those actors screaming and shouting about the press, but on the other side using them to keep themselves in the public eye is sickening. Hugh Grant, George Michael, etc etc, your a public figure so act accordingly. Driving high x 2, sucked off by ropey oild ******, well tough you got caught.
So, for me, this is all a waste of time and money, and the UK press did more good, than bad. If we all didnt agree, why does The Sun / NOTW have 4M+ readers ??
More importantly though, nope I wouldnt do Rebecca ! :-)

The thing is, we have all known that this has been going on for years.
I'm only 29 but I have always had the impression that the media rarely gets its stories legally. But people keep buying the papers and fuelling the fire (not me I have to add). Stupid tabloid companies for stupid people. 'Oh my god, Ryan Giggs has been having an affair!' Who gives a ****?
I don't believe anything they say anyway or care for that matter.

Quite simply, if they believe they have enough evidence to charge her to court, it is then in the public interest that they should prosecute and present the evidence which they have that supports the charge. If not, it would bang of a cover-up and suggest that the media is untouchable.
The CPS will have a lot riding on this and I'm sure they will do all they can to make sure that they have crossed the Ts and dotted the Is.
