Lets hope everyone recovers ok. What a shame it will have taken a bit of the shine off the win for them.
Was made up to see Maldanarndo win, normally cheering for Button and Hamilton but love to see someone win who no one expected this time last week. Fixing up to be a great season.

Tbh Dunk I stopped watching a long time ago when it became a procession. I`d rather watch paint dry

It isn't the procession it used to be Steve, there's some pretty good racing going on nowadays.

The conspiracy theorists are already suggesting that Williams and their sponsors, or Bernie, wanted Lewis out of the way, so Williams could have a fairytale win on Sir Frank's 70th birthday, plus the fire was deliberate to prevent scrutiniring finding any illegal parts.
I would say you couldn't make it up, but it clearly can be.

What a load of rubbish, who say's Lewis was going to win anyway.
And as said the winning car would have been in Parc ferme so unlikely to be fire damaged.

The other conspiracy is that "someone" interfered with the Red Bull front wings.
I don't know who starts these conspiracies, but Sky Sports would be on my list.

Re the redbulls, Id say they have 2 configurations of front wing that give them slightly more down force when the fuel has dropped, and that's why they changed them, nothing in the rules saying you cant do this as long as the part have passed the crash/load tests required,
Or they have all of a sudden forgotten how to make a front wing, and I dont believe that after the last few seasons when they had the flexi wing down to a tee.

Williams used to have a system which was based around a fly wheel, which rotated, energy was harvested from that. I don't remember the full ins and outs of it, or if they still use that version of the system.

I think they should all be given the same size fuel tank and all be made to fill it up at for each race then there is no question about running out of petrol. It is a race so the basics should all be equal.

But that would hinder the fuel efficient engines by making them carry excess weight which they do not need.

They use the standard battery system. However, they have developed the flywheel system and and supply Porsche who fit them in some of the GT cars.
And:
-Maldonado's car was not in the pits when the fire broke out. Anyone with a half interest in F1 would know that.
-More importantly, nobody was seriously hurt.
-Some of these conspiracy theories are just nuts.
-ScoobySteve69 - You obviously haven't watched any F1 for a long time. Can suggest you actually do so instead of making comments that just make you look like an arrogant tw%t?
Unless this is what you would like everyone to think, in which case, carry on sir!

PS You forgot to point out both Red Bull front wings were damaged rather than it be some master stroke of strategy to choose to change the front wing half way through a GP

I agree with f1fan.
Some of the comments on here sounded like they were coming from a 10 year old.
For a car enthusiast's forum, there is a serious lack of knowledge and understanding regarding what is the pinnacle of motorsport.
Laughable really.
