Default Need new hair clippers

What do you recommend?

My current ones have pretty much died, they hardly move, but have this "turbo" button and only really cut hair when that's pressed, which is impossible to press and cut.

I do it a grade 0, without a guard on. Don't want any fancy trimming tools, just good quality (mains) clippers, without a turbo button. What would you go for?

Most Remington ones are good quality. I`ve had a couple sets over the years.

Remington are good

I have one of those babyliss round ones too which is pretty decent. Needs an extra mini clipper which it comes with to do next hair though

Argos catalogue number 443/2739, Babylis hair clippers, £7.99 from £9.99, BARGAIN

Due to astounding levels of testosterone (or really bad fücking luck), I've been gradually receeding since 19-20 and one thing ivecfouvd is the cheaper clippers actually do a better job, if simple's all you're after. Current Wahl ones are mains and were £10. Lasted for ages. Prior to that had some Nicky Clarke shït which were £20 from £40 in a sale - awful clumsy things. Prior to that had some Phillips which used to slice 'n' dice your head as they were that short

Have a look at Wahl 5 star Balding clippers. They are an amazing bit of kit and are for home or professional use.
They get consistently good reviews.
I was bought some but it's easier for me to use a razor on my head as I go down to the bone!

I did this but started getting terrible shaving rash around my throat and back of my head. Tried different razors, Gillette, Wilkinson etc., no better.

Just cover my eyebrows and go at myself with a number '0' now

Not a Remington. Gone through three of them (two sets were given to me), Two ceramic, one titanium, all fine when new, rubbish after a year or so. Even after disassembly to clean them out. Two were cordless (the ceramics IIRC) and they ended up having to be plugged in to finish the job.

I'm currently using a Wahl Pets 9269-804 , not out of choice, its the dog's and the Remingtons weren't doing the job so I tried them and they are miles better LOL. They were about £25 IIRC.

Mains powered, built like a tank. bit heavy, but not really an issue though. Old fashioned blades, so just lube them after every use, like you should (Remington said theirs didn't need lube, obviously a lie as the blades wore out)

+1 For Wahl.

First clippers I bought for my gun dog were Wahl back 7 years ago.

The fourth set of clippers bought for myself were ironically Wahl after trying loads and found them to be poor.

Wahl for the Win for me

+1 for wahl, -1 for remington.

The wahls are fairly solid whereas my brother managed to explode a remington whilst halfway along a "deep cut". The plastic sockets for the screws ripped out and shattered.
He resorted to wearing a towel on his head until he found his beard trimmer and completed the job.

These are what I have:

They are not as you would like, but for me they are spot on, 2 hours charge and last 40 mins with any issues. Loads of tools although not used!

This is what I currently use http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-QC51...5798479&sr=8-4

If I remember correctly I paid about £10.00 less than that price a year ago.

The reviewers were being extremely pedantic, most guards scratch to an extent, they're more than up to the job.

Plus there's a ton of spares on ebay anyway.

They are indeed great clippers, they manage my fathers super fine hair just fine, when most barbers seen to struggle with it.

I'm really struggling with the wahl baldfaders. The feel, speed etc is really good. But is there such a thing as "too close"?

When shaving my face fluff off i must nick my skin about 10 times and my skin is fine. I also cut my head about 4-5 times per shave. Something that has never happened with any other clippers i've had.

It's the reason why you buy clippers that have an adjustable taper. You can wind the blades back if it gets too close.

Unfortunately these don't have an adjustable head. Think i'm going to have to change clippers, as when trimming my face fluff, i nick myself about 10 times. Shame, they have excellent feel and really powerful.

Any other wahl suggestions then? Something that'll give me a Grade 0, but not cut my face/head to ****.

The super taper with the surgical blade set, i believe it's similar to the balding clipper blades, perhaps not quite as close.
