stella comes in two (totally different) versions
one is brewed in Leuven, Belgium by Stella Artios and is imported into the UK (in bottles not cans) - the bottles say brewed in Belgium and imported into the UK, and have a distinctive paper top
the other is a cynical marketing job and is brewed "under licence" by Whitbread Breweries in the UK -god knows where though, the bottles say brewed under licence in the UK
they taste totally different, imported stalla, proper stella, is a lovely lager, and the equal of Peroni, which is a quality drink too
Just hope that Whitbread Breweries don't start to brew Peroni "under licence" because they will ruin it
Imported -- and a quality lager
not worthy of the name -- and drinking out of cans is for idiots
i suspect you where comparing the "under licence" version

I've never been a Stella drinker as its one beer that gets me angry or leaves me with a headache. As for Peroni, **** me, it tastes like tree bark and twigs. Absolutely abhorrent taste to it, utter shįte!!
Me, I'll happily sit drinking Coors, Millers, San Miguel, Tiger, Singh, pretty much anything that you don't regularly see on tap (like Carlsberg, Carling and Fosters).
Infact my local does Coors light on tap for £2.65 a pint with Sky Sports... and I just do happen to have booked Monday off work for the football! Damn! That's a light tasting beer

brew your own - me and the missus make lager, wheat beer, cider and proper ginger beer
I guarantee you'd like our brews over anything shop bought and we pay about 33p per pint!!

Actually Whitbread stopped brewing any beer or lager about 12 years ago. Stella is now brewed in the UK at Magor in South Wales by Interbrew or Inbev as it is now known.

What a load of old crap, I had a pint of Peroni last night and it was ok but it was just standard pub lager, like Stella, I cant tell the difference really and think Stella tastes fine.
They dont add these mysterious ingredients, "Chemicals" as some blokes will talk about in hushed tones, this shady set of additives that are specifically designed to turn otherwise normal blokes into homicidal wife beating maniacs and then have a terrible headache in the morning, it is just beer, made the same way but everyone seems to buy into the crap that things like Becks is made by nuns with water from German mountain streams, its all fizzy lager but with different marketing and brand image, the mysterious ingredient that causes spousal abuse and splitting headaches is called alcohol, the more of it you imbibe the more unpredictable you become in terms of behavior and the more dehydrated your body is the following day. I had woken up and wished I hadn't after drinking Absinthe, Champagne, Cognac, Belgian Beer or whatever and it just seems to be down to the amount of alcohol, not any specific way of delivering it. I try the various ones in our local and there is about four they vary a little but next time you go in they have varied again, they seem to be at different temperatures, different levels of gasiness, sharpness or whatever, the universal thing is the "Regent" is generally best avoided as that isnt very nice, the others being Carlsberg, San Miguel, Carlsberg Export all taste the same.
I don't think anyone can really tell the difference, if presented, in a pub a pint of Peroni in a Stella glass I dont think I could tell, it isn't like telling Vimto from Fanta.
I get really peeved with those blokes that will only drink Beck's, like its some kind of health giving drink, it ****ing lager you ponce, if you are going to try an affect an air of sophistication and taste via what you drink, perhaps try an obscure Brandy, a Vodka Martini or anything, but bloody cooking lager.

I class myself as a "Lager Connoisseur" and I can not only tell the difference between premium and boys pub lager, blindfolded, but can also taste the difference if it is served too cold or not cold enough.
Just because some like lager instead of wine or spirits, doesn't make us mindless f*cktards that will drink any old p*ss just for the sake of it!

I have to agree here, i could tell the difference between most lagers ect, as for the hangover's, they do vary on what you drink NOT the alcohol content, example i can go out and drink a moderate 12-15 pints of lager or guiness on a normal sunday and i will feel awfull on monday however if i drink the same amount of cask ale i am fine the next day, this says to me that the preservatives (chemicals) in lager ect do indeed affect my hangover,
this is only my thoughts

I'm not a wine drinker either, tastes like vinegar to me
But I do seem to get a change of mood if drinking Stella, and yes I too can tell the difference in taste. I hardly drink but find certain beers to get me in atse about mood but Stella the opposite
Not a fan of Becks or Heineken either, ooh maybe Grolsch though, but my favs which see me in happy mode are above.
I've never heard of chemicals in beer if Jacks post was aimed at my good self
