did'nt mind when stella dropped from 5.2% to 5% as i thought it tasted better for it, but now sat down for a couple of cans and noticed its now 4.8% is there something i've missed or are the big super markets selling large packs cheap and dropped the percentage somehow with stella artois to keep prices down.

It's always varied though.
5.2% in cans and 5% on draft.
A lot change for the UK market. It's why things like Vodka dropepd from 40% to 37.5% buy a decent brand of vodka outside of the UK and chances are it will be stronger (at least back up at 40%)
5t.

I got some some Spendrups "Premium" larger in Sweden recently and thought it wasn't very strong - turned out it was 2.8%! You might as well drink Coke.
Mind you, we did find a great place in Stockholm and I don't think there was anything on the beer list under 6%

I know, solely invented in the seventies to provide a disappointment for kids with a selection box, once you had eaten the Curly Wurly, Crunchie, Dairly Old English Spangles, Tooty Fruities, Fruit Gums, Milky Way and Opal Fruits (none of your Starburst Nonsense) you were left with the wooden spoon of the confectionery world, it had zero trade in value with your siblings and was only eaten when ravenous sometime after arriving home from school in Feb when your mum told you to wait for your tea, after the initial revulsion and feeling of wretchedness you bit into it and realised it actually wasn't that bad, in fact it was ok, not great but it had chocolate and wasnt overburdened with nuts which actually werent that bad. It also had an amusing tag line "What has a Hazelnut in every bite" to which the answer was "Topic !" but of course we changed the answer to be "Squirrel **** !"
The Topic bar is alive and well, having three kids who get more selection boxes than is sensible that should actually be called "Eat the Bleeding lot in one sitting box", the Topic is still included and still has zero currency/swap value so its either bin it or give it to dad, so I end up with quite a few of them, they are quite nice really, kind of unassuming and not overly flavoured and a nice throwback to childhood.
