$640M lottery win
heard this on the radio this morning. x18 times rollover. one person. meh, i think i might just get by

Err... yeah.
Wouldn't touch the capital, would just have it bringing in income. Have a large portion of that going off to good causes and live off a couple of million a year. Job jobbed! I'd be quite happy travelling, reading... would maybe even still work occasionally.

Seems there are three winners from what I read this morning.
If it was a single winner and you took the lump sum you'd get something like $300m, and after tax it would work out to about $125m.
I'd be curious to know how much you would end up if you didn't take the lump sum and took the yearly option instead.

About half of the lottery money is paid out to ticket holders in the form of winnings, 35 percent to state governments and 15 percent to retailer commissions and lottery operating expenses. Still doing ok though
