one is the sound of battle field guns, heavenly trumpets replace.
With your final parade on the drill square of God, his inspection awaits.
The lowering of the flag and the sun in the sky, a whisper is heard through all of the cries.
Your service is over, no more shall you fear, now an angel of God your place is right here.
One last command for you to obey; STAND EASY my sons on this darkest of days
RIP the 6 Fallen Heroes..

Waste of time and more importantly young men's lives being there. The moment we leave it will all slide back to where it was in the first place. Should have learned from the first British efforts and those of the Russians who gave up soon enough.

I've been watching the Marines in Afghanistan series on Ch5 over the last few weeks. They appear to be making progress, but I can't help but feel that things will just revert back to how they were once the troops pull out and control is fully given to their own army and police forces. I don't think we or anyone can exact such a culture change required in such a short time to ensure the Taliban and their way of life is banished for good. It would take 20years+ to do that IMO.

I've been watching that too. The Royal Marines really are a credit to Britain. The way they carry themselves and their general demeanor towards the people there is absolutely first rate.

I've been watching the Marines in Afghanistan programme on Channel 5 and Monday's episode was focusing on how 3 of the soldiers are coping with life after being blown up by IEDs.

It was very sad and I'm not ashamed to say, as a grown man I had tears in my eyes.

We've been watching this, although I tend to watch it from behind the newspaper for that reason. Breaks my heart.

RIP, boys.

I had a chat to a injured soldier who was doing her rehab at the gym I'm a member at and hearing her talking about Afghanistan,Its sound's like hell. Some of the things she told me were shocking and the Government(previous Labour government mainly)should be ashamed of themselves.

She told me that she doesn't trust the Afghan police/army because due to some being corrupt and some are members of the Taliban.

RIP

when we do eventually pull out it is up to the locals to keep up the work we have taught them to do.i personally hope it goes ok when we leave as the thought of not finishing the job we started means all my mates and the other lads/lasses that have been hurt and lost will be in vein.i think we will have a presence there for a long time but in a different role.the channel 5 programme of the lads from bickleigh is an eye opener for a lot of people about what it means to be a royal.
