Ignorant Pillock
On my cycle at a traffic light in Aldgate this afternoon. Stopped in the ASL () is an Avensis or somesuch with two blokes in it. Passenger opens the door and puts a fast food container with half-eaten food in it on the road and closes the door again.
I look over at him in disgust and he winds his window down
"What is your problem?"
"Why can't you put it in bin someplace?"
"Why? Its not your house is is? There's not a bin in the car"
I felt like calling him an ignorant f***wit but wasn't really in a mood to have a fight with two men in the street. But FFS, where on earth are some people brought up? Its f***wits like him that the country could quite happily lose on a Mars expedition and not know they had gone.

Yep 90% of society has gone to the dogs imho. There are only a few of us left who actually think this sort of thing is wrong. I have in the past picked all the crap they have slung to the ground and flung it back in through the car window.
They have no pride in the country and consequently treat it like a bin. All to do with the hand out society we have built over the last 15 years I expect.
Boils my pee.

Dual carriage way today. I pull up in lane two as the lights for the pedestrian crossing have just gone red. Mum pushing a push chair just about to cross.
I hear the drone of a fruity 'zorst' and a tw@t in a chaved up 306 cruises over the crossing, through the red light, driving in a bus lane, and pulls into the petrol station 15 yards beyond the crossing.
Scum.

I'd disagree and say it was 10%. Most people will do the right thing, but the 10% will not change no matter what campaigns are promoted.
Usually these are the same people responsible for a multitude of issue which are out of alignment with the rest of society.
But they aren't going to change just because a poster say "please don't do this". Needs more direct action.

Mate has had this a few times. Unfortunately for the offenders in question he's an environmental officer for the council.
First one was a Audi TT and a 1.5 litre mineral water bottle, not empty, which nearly hit his bike. The conversation was similar to yours except he sent them a £60 fine for their troubles.
the next was a taxi driver chucking a tab end out the window at him. Being told not to chuck tab ends at people produced much effing and blinding followed by a swift apology when he was fined for littering, fined for driving in a bus lane with no fare on board and hauled before the taxi license board for smoking in a work vehicle and his general behaviour.

Certainly very poor behaviour as well as his attitude.
Trouble there is never time to do it,but I would have been very tempted to open the car door and sling the container back into his lap.
At least you are pretty mobile on a 'bike.

I was leaving the car park once in the Type R heading past the local chav brigade in their Saxo etc, when one looking directly at me (or my car), casually dropped a KFC box out of the passenger window. I 'casually' pulled up next to him, got out and as I walked round to him said "I think you've dropped something". "Na mate" was the reply. So I picked it up a stuffed it through his open window calling him an ignorant c**t at the same time in rather a loud (near screaming) voice. I thought he may say something, but he sat there looking at his lap (not sure if ashamed or looking at his newly grease stained trousers). I then made a quick exit.
These little f**kers really grip my sh*t. Grrrrrr

Sticky side down on his windscreen and a sharpish exit down the next narrow alley on the bike James
I've done the old drop it back in their lap routine and "you obviously didn't mean to drop this" chat/ looney stare before-the bloke so didn't expect it that he actually looked sheepish and said "sorry".
Phew! Acted before I thought moment...

Litter dropping is chronic. I do voluntary conservation work a couple of days each week and if litter picking you can fill a black bin bag with litter in minutes wherever you are. Most of it f'kin recyclabe cans and drink bottles and then cigarette packets. If you have an empty can or an empty plastic bottle with a screw on lid why do you need to throw it out the car? I thought school kids were meant to be switched on about recycling and the environment but I see them walk past bins just chucking it anywhere. There does need to be some sort of national campaign. Back in the seventies I was aware of the Keep Britain Tidy campaign and adverts on TV. It is a symptom of sh!tness. If we could reduce litter dropping it might make (some) people have more thought for others apart from themselves. And bagged dog crap......who are the idiots bagging it up and leaving on the pavement, country paths, in trees...................................
