Divorce Advice
Ok.....some backgound.
I am English, she is Argentinean. I live in Holland, she in Argentina. We were married in the UK but we both lived together in Holland.
How is the best/correct way to proceed with divorce? Can it be done in Holland??? Would it need to be done in the UK?
It is an amicable seperation!

BTW the easiest way to do this is by a UK divorce as it was the governing country where the marriage was held. It is also covered by the Rome III act
A reform called Brussels II introduced the rule that the first court to be approached (whether it is Dutch or English) decides the divorce. However, another measure called Rome III stipulates that the marriage should be ended by the law that governed it originally

Look up, IAML website to find somebody in hollandand / or argentina .International academy of matrimonial lawyers You will need to consider whether you are domiciled or habitually resident in the uk . see hmcts justice website and court forms , for a divorce petition .Read the notes.
otherwise you are looking at either you issuing in holland or her in argentina and you would need specialist advice as to see which forum is most applicable or favourable for you.
