A labour MP has been suspended after a fight in the commons bar. It turns out that the bar is subsidised by the tax payer so they can have cheap drinks yet the mp's have been campaining for years for a rise in the price of alcohol to stop the binge drinking culture. Funny how we should be paying for them but its of no suprise, I think the New Statesman comedy series to of been years ahead of its times for accuracies of the modern mp's
To me this is how all debates should be sorted in the commons, "FIGHT!!!!" imagine how good prime ministers questions would be, people would definitely show an interest in politics then.
"This is an extremely serious incident. We have suspended Eric Joyce pending the results of the police investigation."
Is it "extremely" serious because the Tory victim is badly injured, or was it serious because the perpetrator happens to be an MP, and the victim is an MP as well? It will be useful to know whether it was just a push or a slap, or if Eric beat the **** out of the Tory boy, or threatened him with a knife or a cucumber etc.
http://order-order.com/2012/02/23/in...-blow-account/ ... for the "alleged" events in question. Stupid pillock head-butted a Tory MP after the police had arrived. There are now 8 plod witness statements that state what happened. I foretell a by-election on the way .....

Oh.
Very "off-his-trolley" act indeed. I wonder if he was p!ssed in advance.
most people are not allowed to drink at work, The Government keeps talking about extra tax on alcholol whilst offering subsidies for MP's so they could set an example
