Default Anyone got a husky Or a malamute?

Not sure if anyone here has one of these dogs, but I've got a 14 month old huskamute who has been constantly shedding his fur for the last 5 months, is this normal or should it be seasonal, any advice is great fully taken, brushing 2-3 times a day is doing my head in fair play

As above they shed constantly. When you go and buy one they usually tell you/ put you off about it.

I have a 13 month old malamute male. He is currently blowing his coat for the first time. He's been blowing for a good few weeks now and to be honest was shedding quite a lot all year. We get a carrier bag full every other day now. Our current brush was just not doing it, so we got a Mikki Large Rake for Long Undercoats.
http://www.petsathome.com/shop/under...by-mikki-26695 You can get them on ebay for about £6.

It was recommended to me by members on Icebay, the Malamute/Husky forum. What a difference! It really is getting the undercoat out better.

Is yours coming out in clumps?

I like that one, its like "shyte, where the puppies head then?" lol

Gorgeous dogs and yes they moult all the time it seems. Been covered on several occasions with a neighbours one

Take the bag of fur to a bird sanctuary or leave it in your garden. The birds love using it for their nests.

How tall is he?

Sounds massively overweight for a malamute, never mind crossed with a husky which typically weighs less.

You can't beat hairy dogs.

Here's a Newf who lost a little fur when grooming:

Got 2 malamutes mate and f**k do they shed some hair although not as much now, try putting a tea spoon of veg/olive oil in their food, it shines their coat and they don't lose as much hair!!

He's gorgeous.

Our vet that they didn't want to see any more weight on him. 41kg and 28". Which is about right. The largest ones are generally 49kg. I only know of one that is 60kg/32". A mini-horse, but has HD.

The average is about 40 for a mute and 35 for a husky, so your huskamute is both put together Do you work him? Which might equate to more muscle?!

Yeah, i've noticed that. He's going more grey and losing some black. Who knows what colour he'll end up. His goggles have greyed, which makes him look older/wiser.
