Triathlons?

Oh, forgot to mention. There's a beginners one down in Brighton in August. Since our Head Office is down there, I was thinking of doing it myself.
I'm still in rehab, but if I'm fit enough nearer the time I'll give it a go.
Details are here Brighton Triathlon
There's details of the Beginners course and even a 12-week training plan.
If you think you could manage a 200m swim, 10K bike ride and a 2.5K run, then you should give it a go.

Neil,
Haven't competed myself, although a lot of the lads I trained were serious Triathletes. Have a look around the official British web site - BTA.
My advice would be to join a club. That way you can learn how to train properly and keep yourself motivated.
Even if you just want to try it, I'd still join a club. Unless you're already very active, you'll just pickup injuries if you go off and train yourself.
If you don't fancy swimming, then theirs always Duathlon (Run, Bik, Run) for you to try as well.
