How do you know this? Lucas has not allowed any screenings ahead of release. In fact, the film is not even finished yet?

I hope it is, but Georgey boy should leave making the films to others, as TPM showed. He can come up with the money and the ideas, that's what he's good at!

Call it a gut-feel (and blind faith that there will be another good Star Wars film finally!!)............

Let me take a guess that your original fav Star Wars film was Empire Strikes Back (the one that GL had least to do with)?

I think the fact that tickets are still available for the 16th shows that the normal hysteria is not going to present with this film. I've just booked two tickets for the 8:30 showing and there were loads left for every performance.

I'm just going for Natalie Portman *sigh*

bunch of computer generated cack, which is what the spider man movie looks like to- if i want to watch a cartoon i'll go see a cartoon. i dont want my proper films full of fx rubbish that looks like a bloody playstation.

saw madmax the otherday- proper stunts, made some of the modern stuff look like the artifical dross that it is.

Tiggs

ps- pc's have their place- and it aint in front of me with a tub of popcorn.

Indeed not, my fav is Star Wars!!!!! George was obviously not himself when he made that!! The dialog is a bit crummy though, in true Lucas style. However, Iwas only 10 when I first saw it and it made quite an impression on me.

I enjoyed TPM, more than ROJ, but less than the others.

I am waiting eagerly for 16th May.

Geezer - I'm not doing to well am I?!! ha ha

I am forever hopeful that GL will have another turn with AOTC and that from the trailers the film hints at being a lot darker in tone and reminiscent of ESB, my favourite of the series by a long way (and the one that GL left in the v.capable hands of Lawrence Kasdan).

Tiggs - AOTC does look like it has been CGI'd to death but then hopefully the storyline will outway the effects but the way that GL is holding his dick in both hands and saying 'look what I can do with computer graphics'we might be let down again.

The original series (even ROJ with those fcukin' furry ewok things) will always have more soul and passion than TPM or whatever follows it. BTW - I was 8 when Star Wars first came out and that film had a bigger impact on me than any film I have seen since.

Don't count on it. The trailers I've seen are utterly unimpressive. Too much love-story type stuff going on.

Tiggs, whereas all mad max is is some geeza driving around in a car its not hard to do the stunts. Flying around in space however is slightly more tricky thing to do IRL so they have to use special effects. And how many light sabres do you know of in existance that they could use for filming with?

mark,

good point! i assumed light sabres were real?

my problem is with the over use of FX- i saw a small clip of spiderman yesteday- a fight scene. now rather than have a real bloke in a suit do the fighting they cleary used a CG spiderman so he could do some incredible stunts. IMO i would rather they hire a gymnast and a trampoline to get a shot of a REAL person flying 30ft through the air than watch a cartoon fly 50ft with 3 back flips.

just my opinion!

Tiggs

ps- mad max is not just "some gezzer" ! wash your mouth out!

It's not a review of the finished article, as he says at the beginning. The film is not due to be complete until the first week of May.

I don't doubt that what he has seen is pretty close to the finished article.
