I used to love mine Back in the day me and my mate would harass our folks for money for batteries and spend the whole day Breakdancing outside our local swimming baths on my nan's old kitchen lino!

We used to pop a cap on the floor and made over £15 one day! not bad for 1985!

It was only when we got to about 4pm when our dancing got noticeably slower as the batteries were running low!

Great times!

I've got a Panasonic RX-5500 in my garage that I bought in Singapore in 1981. It gets used several times a week and still works perfectly.

I've also got a Hitachi TRK-9050, but it doesn't work any more!

The best bit was, it cost me £80. I saw one in a hi-fi shop in Southampton a few months later and it was £299! In those days it was $5 (Singapore) to the pound.

My Grandma bought one back in the day, used to covet it as it was way better than my Sharp GFA3, seemed wrong for a gran to have such a choice piece of technology, fast forward to 2005 and she gives me it, I thought "wtf will I do with that", then the memories came back, its lived in my garage up on the wall with an old pc plugged into the aux to provide music when in there, still sounds pretty good.
