New year, New start.
So a new year is soon to be upon us and the opportunities that will come along with it, seems to me to be a good time to start life afresh and make something for the future and I want to do this by starting a business but I dont know what!
I used to run my own security company (providing physical security solutions to businesses) and things were going very well, sadly I decided to merge my company with a friends similar business which seemed a good idea given we were competing with each other alll the time locally and the economy was killing off others in our industry. Unfortunately he was hiding huge debts to the HMRC in unpaid vat, corporation tax and paye, he was looking for a way out of his mess and thought me and my company was it. I wasnt and he, his greed, desperation and maliciousness when I refused to go along with his deception cost us both our livelihoods along with all those that worked for us. He had gone to great lengths to hide things from me and I was too trusting ( i had been good friends with him for 10 years) and believe me I have learnt my lesson!
So due to everything I find myself with no income and I have been unable to get a job as I have been working for myself for years so no seems to be interested in employing me even though I have a lot to offer and have a run a company employing 150 people providing services at 80+ sites(at once) across the south of England. It seems that with so many people unemployed due to businesses folding and being redundant etc there are lots of people in the job market for employers to choose from and those with "formal" experience are always preferred over someone self taught used to doing things their own way.
Anyway things are what they are and due to the sale of my Litchfield Type 25 in a couple of weeks (Assuming the buyer doesn't pull out) I will have roughly £20K to use to start and get the business going, what would you do given similar opportunity? I don't want to start another security company from scratch again as the stress it out me and my partner under was crazy as its a 24hr 365day job.

I'm not being funny and it may sound weird but I think that online adult shops are doing very well at the moment and there's not that many people doing it.
One of my University friends of a friend has set up his own online adult shop selling sex toys, lubes, vibrators, bondgage kits, sexy lingerie etc and he's doing well for himself and has taken on 2 people to work for him.
Just some food for thought.
I know that Lovehoney.com is a very good website

It is something I have been considering including the sale of pornography which is always a popular item lol The thing that put me off was te thought of the competition as there appears to be a mass amount of these types of sites online.,, but you think there is not a huge amount of people selling the toys?
I will take a look at the site you mention, purely for research purposes of course

Quite a good site actually and quite a few others doing/selling similar. Not sure I have the budget to build as good a site and compete with them lol they are obviously doing well though as a quick internet check revealed they had almost £2million cash in the bank when they last filed their accounts :P
