Default Your favourite Christmas toy?

So guys and gals, what was your most favourite toy that you had for Christmas?

Mine would be a jewelry making set I had when I was about 10 it was one of those where you had to bake the stuff in the oven.

Big Trak was great but actually pretty boring to play with.

TCR was good, I had the Jam Car Speedway.

Atari 2600 as well, still the best looking console ever.

Lego Technic car chassis (8860)

A Lego technic digger I think, or maybe a remote control sports beetle, both because I have fond memories of sitting with my dad Christmas day building them more than actually playing with them

Two things come to mind, one was a plastic aircraft carrier, about 10" long. You unclipped it's lid and inside was a battleship, inside that at submarine and inside that a two-man ride-on sub.

The other was a set of "Swoppet" knights: ever part interchangeable, individual swords, knives, sword belts, shields, lances etc etc.

Made by Brittains.

Meccano, nothing has ever bettered it to this day. Trouble is these days most kids wouldn't know what to do with it!

Come to think of it, looking back. These must have been extremely well built things, I aimed mine at walls, off the top floor of flights of stairs etc etc and it never ever broke, think I got bored of it in the end.

TCR for me too except it only lasted about 4 hours before packing in. Being able to overtake and not be stuck to a groove was amazing fun. Also the working headlights, I had the curtains shut in the lounge making everyone sit in the dark whilst racing the cars round. My Dad spent the rest of Christmas day trying to fix it but ended up taking it back for a Scalextric which in comparison are just rubbish. I've always wanted another TCR set since but 1) think it will ruin my memories of how good I thought it was and 2) they will all be busted and unreliable now 3) if they had been that good they would have fixed the issues and smashed Scalextric out of the market.
