Question Why Were all the Best Xmas Songs ...

... released in the 1970's?

Strange that, here we are 40 years later, and the songs which put everyone in the Xmas mood are still the very same ones from all those years ago.

Will there be anymore Xmas classics?

Yes please, I really need to hear "Merry Christmas everybody" and "I wish it could be Christmas" again.

They are by and large all **** and hackneyed to death, brought out like really old, tragic decorations.

Hah Bumhug !

Try working in a shop putting up with it all day, since bloody November. It's soul destroying. And now to 'get us in the christmas spirit' they have decided to play christmas CDs in the staff canteen, so we can't get away from it.

I know it seems a bit bah humbug, but it's just too much, it spoils Christmas a bit.

All that said, I do like Shakin' Stevens 'Merry Christmas, Everyone'.

The Pogues' "Fairytale of new York" is the best Christmas song - ever.

1988, Pete - read it and weep.
