Category of write off's?
I know cars are written off as Cat A-D, with D being the lowest, usually meaning they can be put straight back on the road with little or no work, due the the reason behind the write off
What about motorbikes?
I see a lot of bikes around that are cat C write off,s and are back on the road, but some of the damage looks very superficial
is it the same for bikes or different?
And how do you get on insuring one? higher risk / cost or lower risk / cost
Mart

Its about price of parts and age also. An oldish bike with, say just some fairing damage, well the fairing could cost xxx amount brand new and it wouldn't make financial sense to repair at that price. Whereas if you bought it damaed, you may repair with second hand parts much cheaper.
Insurance is the same, except the payout value will be less, as it was already written off.

Don't forget labour is the biggest cost. But reparing a bike often costs a lot of labour thats why the write them off a lot quicker. Remeber you can often pick up a bran new bike for a few grand vs the cost of a seconhand car your looking at a lot more.
Mate you forgot cat x lol.
I think thats stolen and recovered but often fits into eith cat d or c depending on how and where if was found etc.
