Default Hit and run

What to do?

My 20 year old step son has been knocked off his moped by a hit and run driver turning right across my step sons path. He then drove off as my step son picked himself up from the floor. My step son - Jose, is a little winded, battered and bruised, but mostly okay. His bike has a smashed plastics and front light as a start - tomorrow we'll see the real damage. Police have been great - breathalysed him and given him a crime reference number and told him to contact his insurers tomorrow!
We are now driving around town in a vein search for the car as he didn't get the reg number when it sped off. All we know is that it's a red Peugeot 406. Any suggestions?

Not much more you can do. Thankfully the lad is not badly hurt and the bike will get fixed. Just keep a look out for the car, but I think you may end up accosting all red Peugeot 406 drivers!

No CCTV or witnesses?

Hope he is ok, having a daughter who rode a moped I know how dangerous it can be.

After spending three hours covering most of the streets in the town and speaking to the police, we're no further forward. The car is nowhere to be found surprisingly, still I may have a slim chance of a lead, time will tell. Time to ring the insurance company tomorrow I suppose.

I'm also going to check out CCTV in the area to see if there is a similar car at that time, just need to find out where the cameras are. Thankfully he's ok, just a little sore.

Hope you do catch him, with luck there will be damage on his car to confirm the accident.

As above, best of luck.

When my lad was 19 he had his car DELIBERATELY rammed by some pikeys in an old Vectra.

We described it to the local Dibble, and their response was, "Oh, it sounds like one of the local "pool" cars, untaxed, uninsured etc off the ****** estate"

I asked why, if they KNEW such cars existed, they didn't just go and grab them all?

Just got a blank look.

Neither we, nor the Dibble ever traced that car.
