Default EU bans claim that water can prevent dehydration

Brussels bureaucrats were ridiculed yesterday after banning drink manufacturers from claiming that water can prevent dehydration.

Do we really want people like that to run our country?

This was the worst bit for me:

EU officials concluded that, following a three-year investigation, there was no evidence to prove the previously undisputed fact.
Find something worthwhile to do, you utter scum!

Useless c*nts.

A meeting of 21 scientists in Parma, Italy, concluded that reduced water content in the body was a symptom of dehydration and not something that drinking water could subsequently control.
So when your washer bottle runs out of water and you top it up with water everything is fine, but when your body runs out of water topping it up with more water does not have the same effect?

The only way this could be true was if you had a vile disease where the body could not convert the water into what it needs and put it in the place it needs to put it to rehydrate you.

could have saved them the trouble and time, sat the 21 scientists in a hot room for 72 hours without water or food - job done!

...hot, as in 95+ celsigrades - that would certainly sort out the problem

OK, I realize this is going against the grain here on NSR, but it appears the only reason EFSA rejected the claim about water preventing dehydration is because it was filed using the wrong form. Silly, pedantic and bureaucratic, definitely, but scientifically incompetent, not quite:
