Default Making a "tray" with sloping sides.

IS there a formula for calculating the angle of the cut at the base of each corner, in order to have sides that lean out?

We did it the long way, (mathematically), and it worked, but I can't recollect ever seeing a method.

Yes, mathematically is the correct way to work it out, basic trig
Though to be honest it's easier just to draw it on AutoCAD or Solidworks these days, I can knock up a drawing quicker than mess around with a calculator or physically marking it out.

Took me some thought, but it worked.

Trouble was, I could SEE it in my mind, but my drawing didn't seem to show it properly.

Sounds like me. I can invisage something in my mind but without sketching it out on a bit of paper the calculations go blank.

Forgive my stupidness but why don't you just buy a 'tray' from pound land or something?

LOL, this was for the lad at work as a plater, "tray" to be made out of 1" plate, around 60" square

So too heavy to start holding it up to see the angles.
