If I bought a fridge freezer with a built in ice and water dispenser, do I have to plumb it in straight away or can you just turn it on and use as normal and plumb it in at a later date? My current fridge freezer has just died so need a new one tomorrow, but wont have time to sort plumbing for it yet.

I have one of these, you can use the fridge straight away, the water line is only for the dispenser and ice maker. Hope that helps

yup you can carry on until you are ready but be warned. Your favourite drink does not taste as good without the lovely crushed ice option

Thanks, I'll get one ordered. Going for a Samsung RSH7UNBP. Hopefully will be ok, not got a large budget for this and I like Samsung stuff.

As above, ours is a Samsung, pretty good so far.......it has a hatch in the fridge door so you can get bottles out without having to open the door, useful and conserves the cool air.

Just make sure that when it's switched on, you selct "ice off" on the panel.

On our Panasonic you take the ice hopper out and attach a cover to the outlet + there is a switch to stop it trying to make the ice.

Don't have ice in cider, beer, sloe gin, or single malt whiskey. Okay in a G&T though

Do some research before committing to the Samsung, they may have sorted there problems now but most models had issues that seemed to crop up just outside of the guarantee period.
