Public display? Even if it's raining tomorrow night as looks possible?
Two for one from Tesco? Sparklers and a torch?
Somebody on here must have spent a fortune, come on, own up
Let's have some firework stories

We are having a Halloween/Fireworks party, bit of fancy dress, games for the kids, and a bit of alcohol later on for the grown ups. Im destroying some of my RAF uniform to zombify myself, I can model it on some of the deadbeats I see day to day in work.

Public display for us at the local cricket club.
Got some sparklers for kiddies.
Was just saying to my wife, can only remember my folks doing about two home firework displays!
Mind you the friggers have been going off round here for days!!!

Last one we did here we had 45 people who were both fed and watered, and£600 worth of fireworks. Did this 3 years on the trot and had a great time. Last time we raised £400 for CLIC as well which was then matched by National Grid so £800 for kids suffering with Leaukemia made all the effort worth it.

I had a similar experience, except it was only near-miss. They look pretty till they're hurtling towards you...

It was, got a DVD of it somewhere as well . We got a bit carried away with the fireworks, my neighbour even made what he called his MRL ( multiple rocket launcher). He fused 16 rockets together to go off in sequence, one every 2 seconds :
Funnily enough getting involved with CLIC put me in touch with one of their regular money raising guys and he got my daughter 2 runs on the Goodwood rally stage with Andy Burton. What an awesome day that was

Nothing here. We all have a cold, and the weather is miserable.
The other half has had two days off work, so we are going to stay in doors and chill.
I can remember taking the children to a big display at West Park a few years ago. Tayla was wearing an all in one snowsuit but insisted half way through the display she needed a wee.
A two year old, a snow suit and a pitch black porta loo, is not my idea of fun!

Few years back me and my mate / business partner would spend 1500 quid on fireworks. Had some amazing displays.
These days can't afford to blow that much cash so don't bother to buy any at all.

Did a first 'display' last year and really enjoyed it. The kids loved it, including my little 3 year old, who normally doesn't like loud noises.
She is very excited about it and with both my Brothers and their kids coming over and bringing some fireworks too, it will be an enjoyable early evening.
I have a fairly large variety box of fireworks, plus apparently what are the largest possible rockets that one can buy in the UK! I will use them at the end.
Hope the general noise doesn't go on for too long as playing Golf early Sunday morning!
Hope you all enjoy yourselves and stay safe.

I will doing my usual cheapskate trick. My sisters house is next to the park where they have the local big display.Job done. Also I have learnt over the years that when watching the really big displays it is better to be a little bit further away.Everyone seems to want to be up close but you don't get the full panarama of the big displays.
Having said that the best experience I have had was in the summer watching a display on the beach up close but laying flat on my back looking up.Absolutley awsome way to see them.Very comfortable,no neck ache & you can only see the fireworks against the black background of the sky.You just have to put up with people giving you weird looks but they're the ones missing out.

I may go to the town display on Saturday night. Around ten years ago I was actually one of the people responsible for setting off the fireworks in the park. According to the Congleton Chronicle I was "one of a team of highly trained pyrotechnicians"...
I've posted this link before but it seems appropriate. Remember firework safety

We,ve just got back, we took the dog (who loves fireworks as much as I do) up to Teggs Nose, a hill that overlooks Macclesfield, and watched them all from there
There were loads of others who'd had the same idea too, turned into a good evening

First year buying some for the kids, 2 4 1 Sainsburys offer as the kids are young and have not previously wanted to do fireworks. Did it at parents house where hotdogs beans and chips were provided and a good time was had by all
